Using a Mankach for Moroccan Tiles

Many Moroccan tile surfaces are designed with special tools that can be used to cut and shape different kinds of surfaces. A mankach can be used as one of the best tools for your general needs. This is a special tool that has been utilized by Moroccans for hundreds of years. Your tiles will be cut with a sharp point made to adjust the curves and sides of the tiles to make them more interesting. The mankach will use a strong point on each end to directly cut apart different spaces on a tile. The width of the mankach can vary based on what your artisan is using but in most cases the mankach will feature a thin design that uses about one-quarter of an inch of iron or steel to keep it all made right.

The thing about the use of a mankach for Moroccan tiles is that it combines two commonly used masonry tools. It combines the sharp point of an axe with the handling features of a hammer. This means that a person who cuts the tiles will be doing so by having a surface that is slightly thinner than what youíd find out of a traditional axe. Itís a huge benefit that may add to anything that can go into your tiles. The added control also makes it useful since the sharp point can be relatively easy to align. Itís an advantage that canít be found with a traditional saw or another kind of traditional cutting tool.
